SUGGESTED ITINERARY
Itineraries listed are recommended by Active Travel Japan but can be customized based on desired length and fitness level. Price listed is subject to change. Group sizes are a minimum of 4 and maximum of 10.
DAY 1 Arrival 7.1 km
● Arrival at Matsumoto Station around lunchtime
● Bring or buy items for a picnic lunch
● Bus to Utsukushigahara Kogen (1 hr)
● Hike along a beautiful ridgeline to Ougatou Hotel (2 hrs 7.1 km) with optional 4 km extension
● Optional additional hike or stargazing in the evening
● Japanese style dinner and hot springs at accommodation
● Accommodation: Ougatou Hotel
DAY 2 Wada Toge to Shirakabako 17 km
● Breakfast at Ougatou Hotel
● Transfer to Wada Toge Chaya (40 min)
● Summit Washigamine (2 hrs 4 km) for beautiful views of the surrounding mountains on a clear day
● Descent to Hachishimagahara protected wetlands (1 hr 2 km)
● Continue through Kirigamine Highlands to summit Mt. Kurumayama (2 hrs 5 km)
● Descent to to Shirakabako 2 hrs (6 km)
● Pickup from Shirakabako and transfer to Sawaemon
● Japanese style dinner and hot springs at accommodation
DAY 3 Yokodake 6 km
● Breakfast at Sawaemon
● Transfer to Kita Yatsugatake Ropeway (20 min)
● Take the ropeway and summit Mt. Yokodake (1.5 hrs 3 km) in the Yatsugatake Range the highest elevation on the tour
● Descent and transfer to Chino Station (40 min) for departure

Passport – Make sure it is not expired and that you do not need a visa to enter Japan! Bring a photocopy of your passport in case the original is lost or stolen

Debit Card – Along with your PIN number for cash withdrawals. Post offices and 7-11s accept all major debit card companies

CONDITIONS
5 hours for making reservations, research, changes to the itinerary etc. is included in the price of a custom tour. After 5 hours, ¥5,000 per hour will be added to the tour price.
Group sizes are between 4 and 10. A 30% and 50% surcharge will be added to custom tours with 3 and 2 people respectively

Traveling with Active Travel Japan involves potentially dangerous activities and therefore Active Travel Japan assumes no liability for any loss, theft, damage, personal injury or death resulting from participation in its tours. Active Travel Japan requires all travelers to sign a waiver form prior to participation, in addition to being covered under a medical insurance and travel insurance policy to both minimize the financial and medical associated with high risk activities.
